Pawxy tablets contain cefpodoxime proxetil. They have an ideal pharmacokinetic profile for an oral time-dependent cephalosporin. The long half-life of cefpodoxime allows for once-daily dosing, which can result in increased oral administration compliance in dogs and better clinical outcomes.

Indication / Uses:
Skin infections (wounds and abscesses) caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus intermedius, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus canis (Group G, Beta-hemolytic), Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida, and Proteus mirabilis.

Precautions:
Unlike other cephalosporins, commonly reported side effects include gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting, reduced appetite, and occasional diarrhea.
It may also cause allergic reactions in sensitized animals.
Safety in breeding dogs, pregnant, or lactating female dogs has not been demonstrated.
