Phosphorus, an essential major mineral, is stored in the seeds in a special way involving inositol rings. Six phosphate molecules are bound to each inositol ring, forming phytic acid-myo-inositol-hexakis-phosphate. The salts of phytic acid are known as phytates. In cereals and oil seeds phosphorus is mainly stored as a component of phytate. Up to 90 percent of total phosphorus content of these seeds is bound to phytate.

BioPhos Forte-FS improves the digestibility of phosphorus in the gastrointestinal tract of poultry enabling reduction in the feed supplementation of Di-Calcium phosphate. In this way BioPhos Forte-FS reduces phosphorus excretion by over 30%. Calcium and Nitrogen excretions are also lowered. Therefore, instead of polluting the environment these nutrients benefit livestock and poultry.
